1st Race at the East Nashville Tomato Fest

Posted on

My oldest son got to run his first race this morning.  He was adorable when he woke up telling us, “It is my BIG day.”

It was a short kids race at the East Nashville Tomato Festival.  I loved watching him run with a huge grin on his face.

Our tomato costumes were a hit with lots of people and my middle son was sure charming everyone when he was flying with his super hero cape. My crafting time yesterday was well spend using clothes and fabric that was headed to the donate pile.

Nick got his face painted for the first time.  The artist was quick and really sweet.

Despite grumblings about wanting to go to the bounce houses afterward, the boys and I, roamed the streets of East Nashville after the race waiting for my husband to finish his race.  East Nashville is nice.  Older craftsman homes, large trees in the yards and really quiet on a Saturday morning.

We didn’t stay to enjoy much of the Tomato Festival after the races because it was muggy and the vendors were only starting to set up.  Instead, we headed home to feast on Shipley’s Donuts.

Yum.

I love the one of Liam at the finish line! How great–frame it for him! How long was his kiddie race? How did Damon do?
