Baby Turned 2 And Oldest Goes To Camp

Posted on Updated on

I meant to blog about Grant’s birthday two weeks ago and I forgot about having taken photos. We had a small birthday for him, just having family over to eat homemade sugar cookies and chocolate frosted cupcakes.

His birthday was on Sunday, the 29th. The night before, my oldest and I decorated our kitchen so that Grant would have a bunch to see when he got up. Liam and Nick cheerfully shouted Happy Birthday as soon as they could early that morning. Grant was all giggles and was adorable in his macaroni and cheese crusted t-shirt.

He enjoyed opening presents and the attention from his brothers and cousins as we all sang Happy Birthday to him again.

My boys are now 6, 4 and 2.

Yesterday, we sent Liam to our church’s overnight camp. Liam has been excited to go for weeks. The cabin leaders did a fantastic job decorating all the cabins. Liam barely said good bye to us when he saw the bunks full of six year old boys. I’m thankful that Liam is going to be able to make some more friends and have adults around him that care as much about him as we do.

(My husband was trying to hide his face behind his hand for the photo, luckily my camera was faster. )

Nick was immediately sad and said he missed Liam. I convinced him to get a picture in front of the cabin, since in two years, he would get to go.

I snapped a few more pictures on our way out of camp, making sure to capture our church music director. I didn’t recognize him without a piano or guitar in front of him.
